Valencia has everything you need without the inconvenience of big city life. We have amazing museums, including the amazing City of Arts and Sciences, one of the best universities in the country, a financial district and much more!
Because the city isn’t as big as Mardid or Barcelona it is easier to move around
in the city. By metro or bus is the fastest way to travel through Valencia.
If you want to live near the beach, but don’t want to give up city life in order to do so, Valencia is for you! The beach is just a ten minute trip from the city centre.
Why should I come to Valencia?
When exploring the options of being an au pair in Spain, perhaps the first places you think of are Madrid or Barcelona. But why not do it in Valencia?
Valencia is the third biggest city in Spain, giving it an edge over the other cities!
– Madrid and Barcelona are really big! That means a LOT of travel time when you want to meet up with your friends for a drink. Living in Valencia, life will be much simpler as it is a much smaller city. Almost everything is within walking distance (or a super short metro journey), so you can say goodbye to a tiring coffee commute!

– Everyone speaks Spanish in Valencia, making it a great place to brush up on your language skills, unlike in bigger cities where everyone will speak English due to being more touristy! The accent is very neutral and there is a wealth of Spanish academies across the city, making it one of the best and easiest places to learn Spanish!

– The food is simply spectacular. Valencia is famous for its rice dishes, including, of course, the paella. Everyone in Spain knows that Valencia is the place to go if you want to enjoy (or learn to cook) a truly authentic paella!
